AL clarifying – The president of the Association France-Algeria, Ségolène Royal, said that “algerophobia” has become a real electoral strategy for part of the French political class, as part of the electoral campaign for the next presidential election.

“Algerophobia has become a real electoral strategy” for some political actors who “continue to stir up neocolonial sentiments in a context where the French have many other concerns,” said Royal, in an exclusive interview with C Show, broadcast Tuesday on international channel AL24News.

It noted, in this sense, that this strategy “is not only fueled by the far right, but also by a much wider part” of the French political class, citinging in particular “a former Prime Minister candidate in the presidential election of 2027 (who) began to triture the 1968 agreements without explaining (…) the reason for the way”.

Mrs Royal stressed that France faced many problems. “It is not scarf hunting that will lower the price of gasoline or allow to eradicate pedo-criminality.”

For her, part of the French political class, especially the one that was in power, “difference made”, while it was “incapable of properly managing the country” and “must now face a calamitous balance sheet” of what has been done, evoking in particular “the explosion of the debt”, “the deterioration of the ranking of France in the educational ranking” and “the question of the weakening of the health system and the attacks on the pension system”.

On a bilateral level, the President of the Association France-Algeria reaffirmed her commitment to “reconnecting the links between the two shores” and “renewing smart partnerships” between the two countries.

“I will not allow this instrumentalization of algerophobia during the election campaign,” she insisted.

It’s in the middle of the right.

“We better get along with the other side of the Mediterranean. We have an interest in getting along with the Maghreb and beyond with Africa,” she added, expressing, in this sense, her wish to see “a France that, tomorrow, through its diplomacy, will not interfere in the conflicts between each other, but, on the contrary, will always seek to reconcile the neighbouring countries”.

“We have very interesting cultural and educational partnerships around the Mediterranean basin. And so it’s this project that I hear for tomorrow”, she Manufactured.

Finally, Ms. Royal pointed out that Algeria is a large country in the region. “This is the entrance to the African continent. So it is urgent to re-establish good relations and I will do it.”
